Barva — Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Draft — not legal advice. Written in good faith to match how the app actually behaves; wants a solicitor's review before launch, particularly the liability and alcohol-related sections.
By using Barva you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
1. Who can use Barva
You must be 18 or over. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and will close accounts we find to be under age.
You need an account to use Barva. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
2. What Barva is
Barva is a tracking and social app for nights out. It records what you tell it and shows it to the people you choose.
Barva is not a health, safety, or medical service. Nothing in it is advice about how much to drink, and none of its numbers should be treated as a measure of intoxication or fitness to do anything — least of all to drive. Drink responsibly, know your limits, and look after the people you're out with. If you're worried about your drinking, talk to a doctor.
We are not liable for anything that happens on a night out you tracked with Barva.
3. Your content
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us the limited permission we need to store it and show it to the audience you chose — nothing more. We don't use your content to advertise, and we don't license it to anyone else.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to post.
4. What you can't do
Don't use Barva to:
- harass, bully, threaten, impersonate, or stalk anyone
- post hate speech, sexual content, or graphic violence
- encourage anyone to drink dangerously, or turn drinking into a challenge or dare aimed at someone else
- post someone else's private information, or track someone without their knowledge
- break the law, or help anyone else break it
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the service
- get around blocking, reporting, or account deletion
5. Reporting and moderation
Any session, comment, chug, or account can be reported from inside the app. Reports are private — the person reported is never told who reported them.
We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. Content that several people report is hidden automatically while it waits for review. If we get this wrong, write to support@barvaapp.com and we'll look again.
You can also block any account, which cuts off contact in both directions.
6. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. It takes effect immediately and can't be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why.
7. The service itself
Barva is provided as-is. We don't promise it will always be available, or that it will never lose data — export your data if it matters to you (Settings → Account → Export my data).
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law and, where it applies, UK consumer legislation.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Barva after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
